New Carlisle, Indiana is a small town located in Olive Township within St. Joseph County. As of 2010, approximately 1,900 people resided in this community, which is found within the South Bend – Mishawaka Metro Statistical Area. This community was originally called Bourissa Hills, but the name was changed when it was platted in 1835. New Carlisle is served by the New Prairie United School Corporation, and New Prairie High School – which is known for its exemplary status – is found here.

 There are a few notable attractions located in and around New Carlisle. Outdoor recreation is popular at Spicer Lake County Park and Mini Mountain Camp Ground. Golf fans might like to play a round at Birch Tree Golf Course in New Carlisle, and other courses in the area include Bowlers Country Club and Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend. Specialty shops in the area include The Potter’s Wife, The Village Shoppes, Yarn and More, and the Red Hen Turf Farm.
