About South Bend, IN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

South Bend, Indiana is a St. Joseph County city, and it also serves as the county seat. This city is found on the St. Joseph River near the southernmost bend, hence its name. As of 2010, around 101,200 people called the community home, making it the fourth largest city in Indiana by population. South Bend serves a cultural and economic hub of Northern Indiana, partly because the University of Notre Dame is located just north of the community. The university serves as the top employer for the city, but other major employers include Beacon Medical Group, AM General, and Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center.

South Bend is home to a variety of attractions and things to do. Art enthusiasts of all types will find something to do in this community, as the South Bend Museum of Art and the Morris Performing Arts Center are found here. Families with young children might prefer to visit the Potawatomi Zoo, which is Indiana’s oldest animal park. Football fans from all over the country also flock to South Bend to check out a game at Notre Dame Stadium or to visit the College Football Hall of Fame.

The City of South Bend is situated within a humid continental climate zone. The winter months tend to be snowy and cold, and high temperatures will only reach the low 30s during the day. Since overnight lows will fall below freezing, residents are smart to have their heat pump or home furnace systems serviced during the warmer autumn months to make sure they are in good working order before they are needed.

Most South Bend residents also choose to invest in an energy efficient central air conditioning unit to keep home interiors comfortable. High temperatures can easily reach the 80s, and with high humidity, these systems can make sure that residents stay safe. Without them, heat related illnesses may become a real possibility, especially during heat waves in which temperatures move into the 90s.
